He became a prelate and canon of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. He devoted himself to the study of ecclesiastical history and wrote an extensive history of the heresies, &#8220;Istoria, di tutte l&#8217;heresie&#8221;, 4 vols. fol. (Rome 1705-17); also, &#8220;Memorie istoriche di ci&ograve; che hanno operato i sommi pontefici nelle guerre contra i Turchi&#8221; in quarto (Rome, 1685); &#8220;Il tribunale della S.
