Beyth-A nath&#8217;, , house of response; Sept.  v. r.  and ), one of the fenced cities of Naphtali, named with Bethshemesh (Jos 19:38); from neither of which were the Canaanites expelled, although made tributaries (Jdg 1:33). It is mentioned by Eusebius and Jerome (Onomast. s.v. , Bethnath), who, however, elsewhere (s.v. , Bethana) speak of a village (apparently in Asher, ib. s.v. , Aniel) called Betanaea (, Bathanasea; , Betoanea), fifteen miles eastward of Caesarea (Diocaesarea or Sepphoris), and reputed to contain medicinal springs.
