To bewray, now obsolete, means in AV [Note: Authorized Version.] to make known, reveal, as Mat 26:73 thy speech bewrayeth thee. Adams (Works, ii. 328) distinguishes the two words thus: he will not bewray his disease, lest he betray his credit. Sometimes, however, hewray is used in an evil sense, and is scarcely distinguishable from hetray. Cf. bewrayer in 2Ma 4:1 a bewrayer of the money, and of his country.

Fuente: Hastings’ Dictionary of the Bible

Bewray

To accuse or betray.
