Cp. petomai and petaomai, &#8220;to fly.&#8221; In the Gospels the RV always translates it &#8220;birds,&#8221; e.g., <span class='bible'>Mat 6:26<\/span>; but &#8220;fowls&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Act 10:12<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 11:6<\/span>.
