It is related to skotos, &#8220;darkness,&#8221; in that passage, and in the Sept. of <span class='bible'>Exo 10:22<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Deu 4:11<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Zep 1:15<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> akin to No. 1, especially &#8220;the gloom of the regions of the lost,&#8221; is used four times; <span class='bible'>2Pe 2:4<\/span>, &#8220;darkness&#8221; (RV); <span class='bible'>2Pe 2:17<\/span>, RV, &#8220;blackness,&#8221; for AV, &#8220;mist;&#8221; <span class='bible'>Jud 1:6<\/span>, &#8220;darkness;&#8221; <span class='bible'>Jud 1:13<\/span>, &#8220;blackness,&#8221; suggesting a kind of emanation.
