He experienced religion when about eighteen, began his course as a preacher a few years later, and in 1843 was admitted into the Providence Conference, wherein he labored with fidelity, acceptability, and success, until August, 1851, when, after a short illness, he died. The prominent features in Mr. Blanchard&#8217;s character were moral integrity, unaffected humility, and a sound, practical, personal piety.
