He became master of Christ College, Cambridge, in 1645, and vice- chancellor of the university in 1651. He died in October, 1654. He was the author of, True Bounds of Christian Freedom (1643):  A Guard of the Tree of Life (1647):  The Arraignment of Error (1646):  and other works.
