an English Non-juror, was born at Stoke in Leicestershire 1637, and educated at Cambridge. He afterward received holy orders, and became rector of Rowley in Yorkshire. He followed the fortunes of the Non-jurors, and died in 1715. His works are; A Life of Jesus Christ:-A History of the Government of the Christian Church for the first three Centuries and the Beginning of the Fourth (1712, 8vo):On Education (1710, 8vo):-A Life of Henry Dodwell (1715, 2 vols. 12mo).
