He was educated at the school of Kells, and at the Edinburgh University; licensed to preach in 1802, presented to the living at Kirriemuir in 1803, transferred to Murroes in 1809, thence. to Mains and Strathlartin in 1820; resigned on account of impaired memory in 1848, and died at Edinburgh, July 12, 1854. Dr. Camnan was an accomplished scholar a learned theologian, a man of sound judgment, sagacity, and integrity. &#8221;&#8217;His publications were, On the Poor, and the Duty and Mode of Supporting Them (Edinb. 1845): -An Account of the Parish.
