In 1717 he took holy orders, and was for some time professor of philosophy and theology at the monastery of Ettenheim-Mnster, in the Breisgau, and at Gengenbach. He died April 17, 1777. He was one of the most learned Benedictines of the last century, and wrote, Tract. Theol. de S. Scriptura (1736):  Auctorilas et Infallibilitas Summor. Pontif. (1738): Universal. Concionandi Scientia (1749,2 vols.): Philosophi Eclectica (1756): Theologia Universalis (1757, 5 vols.).
