Looking at the history of modern philosophy as a progressive formulation of this position, he has sought to extend it by detailed analyses of contemporary scientific developments. Of note are Cassirer&#8217;s investigations in mathematics, his early consideration of chemical knowledge, and his treatment of Einstein&#8217;s relativity theory.
