In 1777  he joined the Franciscan Order  in Barcelona, and was ordained, 1785 ; he arrived in the City of Mexico, 1786 , and entered the missionary college of San Fernando there. For thirty-six years he labored with Father Jose Viader at the Santa Clara Indian mission. He became renowned for his miracles and prophecies. The figure of a crucifix  in the church of Santa Clara is said to have leaned forward to commend him when preaching.
