He united with the Church in 1840; began preaching in 1843; emigrated to America in 1848, and in 1850 was admitted to the Baltimore Conference. Between 1861 and 1867 he held a superannuated relation, and from that time was a supernumerary to the close of his life, Jan. 20, 1873. Mr. Champion was characterized by meekness, fidelity, zeal, and success.
