In 1687 he became pastor of the Independent Church in London, which had previously been Dr. John Owen&#8217;s. In 1704 he retired from the ministry, and was professor of divinity for several years in the Dissenters&#8217; Academy in London. He died Feb. 28, 1712. Among his writings are, The Divine Institution of Congregational Churches:  The Doctrine according to Godliness (in catechetical form; Lond. 1737, 12mo):  Neonomianism unmasked (Lond. 1692).
