This organization was made up of those Negroes who were not members of other Negro bodies and desired a church of their own. In doctrine they are in complete agreement with the Methodist Episcopal Church, and also in polity, with a few necessary variations. Four weekly periodicals are published by them. In the 1950&#8217;s the organization changed its name to Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
