He was remarkably zealous and active on the popular side in all the proceedings of the Church. He published Rights of Members of the Church of Scotland (1831) :-five single Sermons (1831- 46):Present Position of the Church, and the Duty of its Members (1840) :- Dialogues, i-vii, on the Questions Agitated in the Church of Scotland (1843); five of which were translated into Gaelic.
