He embraced religion in early life; and in 1834 entered the Ohio Conference. In 1849 he became a superannuate, and died Sept. 2, 1855. Mr. Clarke was energetic beyond his physical endurance. He was a confiding friend, an ardent Christian, an able and successful minister, and an eminently faithful pastor.
