Close (Or Clues), Nicholas<\/h2>\n

an English prelate, was born at Bibreke, Westmoreland, and was one of the six original fellows whom Henry VI placed in his newly erected King’s College, Cambridge. In fact, he committed the building of the house to Close’s fidelity, who right honestly discharged his trust. He was bishop of’ Carlisle (1450), then of Lichfield, where he died shortly after his consecration, in Oct, 1459. See Fuller, Worthies of England (ed. Nuttall), 3:304.<\/p>\n
