In fact, he committed the building of the house to Close&#8217;s fidelity, who right honestly discharged his trust. He was bishop of&#8217; Carlisle (1450), then of Lichfield, where he died shortly after his consecration, in Oct, 1459. See Fuller, Worthies of England (ed.
