See BORDER. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;by the sea&#8221; (para, &#8220;by,&#8221; hals, &#8220;salt&#8221;), hence denotes &#8220;a sea coast,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Luk 6:17<\/span>. In the Sept., <span class='bible'>Gen 49:13<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Deu 1:7<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Deu 33:19<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Jos 9:1<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Jos 11:3<\/span> (twice); <span class='bible'>Job 6:3<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Isa 9:1<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> is used, in the Middle Voice, as a nautical term, &#8220;to sail past,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Act 27:8<\/span>, &#8220;coasting along;&#8221; <span class='bible'>Act 27:13<\/span>, &#8220;sailed by.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p> Notes: (1) Methorion (meta, &#8220;with,&#8221; and A), in <span class='bible'>Mar 7:24<\/span>, is translated &#8220;borders.&#8221; (2) The phrase &#8220;upon the sea coasts,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Mat 4:13<\/span>, AV, translates parathalassios (para, &#8220;by,&#8221; thalassa, &#8220;the sea&#8221;), RV, &#8220;by the sea.&#8221; (3) Meros, &#8220;a part,&#8221; is translated &#8220;coasts&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Mat 15:21<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Mat 16:13<\/span>, AV (RV, &#8220;parts,&#8221;); &#8220;country,&#8221; RV, in <span class='bible'>Act 19:1<\/span>, AV &#8220;coasts;&#8221; this refers to the high land in the interior of Asia Minor. (4) Chora, &#8220;a country,&#8221; rendered &#8220;coasts&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Act 26:20<\/span>, AV, is corrected in the RV to &#8220;country.&#8221; See COUNTRY, FIELD, GROUND, LAND, REGION.
