The thought is that of sharing with others what one has, in order to meet their needs. See FELLOWSHIP, B, No. 2, PARTAKE, B, No. 2. <\/p>\n<p> Note: Anatithemi, &#8220;to set forth,&#8221; is rendered &#8220;laid before&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Gal 2:2<\/span>, RV, for AV, &#8220;communicated unto;&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Act 25:14<\/span>, RV, &#8220;laid before,&#8221; for AV, &#8220;declared.&#8221; <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> akin to A (which see), is translated in <span class='bible'>Heb 13:16<\/span> &#8220;to communicate,&#8221; lit., &#8220;be not forgetful of good deed and of fellowship;&#8221; &#8220;fellowship&#8221; (AV, &#8220;communication&#8221;) in <span class='bible'>Phm 1:6<\/span>, RV. See COMMUNION. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;a word, that which is spoken&#8221; (lego, &#8220;to speak&#8221;), is used in the plural with reference to a conversation; &#8220;communication,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Luk 24:17<\/span>. Elsewhere with this significance the RV renders it &#8220;speech,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Mat 5:37<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Eph 4:29<\/span>. See ACCOUNT. <\/p>\n<p> Note: In <span class='bible'>Col 3:8<\/span>, where the AV translates aischrologia by &#8220;filthy communication,&#8221; the RV renders it &#8220;shameful speaking&#8221; (aischros, &#8220;base,&#8221; lego, &#8220;to speak&#8221;). <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> akin to A, No. 1 and B, No. 1, means &#8220;apt, or ready, to communicate,&#8221; <span class='bible'>1Ti 6:18<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p> Note: Homilia, &#8220;a company, association, or intercourse with&#8221; (see COMMUNE, No. 2), is translated &#8220;company&#8221; in <span class='bible'>1Co 15:33<\/span>, RV (AV, &#8220;communications&#8221;); the word is in the plural, &#8220;evil companies,&#8221; i.e., associations.
