Broadest sensenoematically intentional, conscious of something. A process may be &#8220;conscious&#8221; in this sense even if it is not &#8220;conscious&#8221;&#8216; in the following sense.<\/p>\n<p>2. Narrower sense&#8221;Actual&#8221;, belonging to the cogito. As living in a process that is &#8220;conscious&#8221; in this second sense, the ego is also said to be &#8220;conscious&#8221;, &#8220;awake&#8221;, and &#8220;conscious of&#8221; (awake to) the intentional object of the process.
