Some mss. have it in <span class='bible'>Act 23:25<\/span>, lit., &#8220;having this form&#8221; (the most authentic have echo, &#8220;to have&#8221;). For the secondary meaning, &#8220;amazed&#8221; (AV, &#8220;astonished&#8221;), <span class='bible'>Luk 5:9<\/span> (lit., &#8220;amazement encompassed,&#8221; i.e., seized, him). <\/p>\n<p> Notes: (1) The verb allegoreo in <span class='bible'>Gal 4:24<\/span>, RV, is translated &#8220;contain an allegory&#8221; (AV, &#8220;are an allegory&#8221;), i.e., they apply the facts of the narrative to illustrate principles.
