He was converted in his eighteenth year; soon became an earnest Christian worker as Sabbath school teacher and class-leader; began preaching in 1835; and in the following year entered the Virginia Conference, wherein he labored with zeal and faithfulness until his death, November 28, 1866. Honest-conscientiousness and earnest fidelity were the prominent features of his character. See Minutes of Annual Conferences of the M.E.
