Having written a Defence of the Validity of English Ordinations (Brux. 1723, 2 vols. 8vo) he was so persecuted that he took refuge in England in 1728, where he entered the English Church, obtained a pension, and died in 1776. He translated into French Sarpi&#8217;s History of the Council of Trent, and Sleidan&#8217;s History of the Reformation, and wrote several tracts. His Disputation on English Ordinations was republished at Oxford, 1844, 8vo.
