He studied at Halle, was in 1775 appointed pastor of St. Wipert&#8217;s at Quedlinburg, and died April 12, 1801. He translated R. Simon&#8217;s Histoire Critique into German, with valuable additions (Halle, 1776-1780), and wrote, Briefe uber Inquisitionsgericht und Ketzerverfolzung (Leipsic, 1785, 2 volumes):  Lebensgeschichte Jesu von Nazareth (ibid. 1787).
