He received a liberal education; went to Mississippi when about twenty-two, and engaged in teaching; joined the Church in 1821; and in 1822 was licensed to preach, and admitted into the Mississippi Conference. In 1837 he located; in 1855 he entered the effective ranks; in 1861 became superannuated, and died February 9, 1863. See Minutes of Annual Conferences of the M.E.
