He graduated from Brown University in 1849; spent one year at the Newton Theological Institution, and was ordained in 1852. For six years thereafter he was chaplain of the Reform School at Westborough; and subsequently, for twelve years, of the State Almshouse at Bridgewater. He was also a teacher at Middleborough for a time. He died at Santa Barbara, California, March 14, 1875. See Newton General Catalogue, page 39.
