He became  vicar of North Bradley 1778; obtained a prebend in Salisbury Cathedral in 1784; was appointed archdeacon of Sarum in 1804; and died in 1827. Besides numerous sermons and charges, he is the author of A Guide to the Church (Lond., royal 8vo, 1830); Vindiciae Ecclesiae Anglicanae (Lond. 1803, 8vo); Remarks on the Unitarian Method of interpreting the Scriptures; Discourses (3 vols. 8vo, Lend. 1802-16); and of minor works. At North Bradley he built alms-houses for twelve poor persons, an asylum, and a school-room; and the church at Rode was erected partly at his expense.  Christian Journal and Lit.
