{"id":41583,"date":"2022-09-28T14:03:18","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T19:03:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/dictionaries\/daughter-daughter-in-law\/"},"modified":"2022-09-28T14:03:18","modified_gmt":"2022-09-28T19:03:18","slug":"daughter-daughter-in-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/dictionaries\/daughter-daughter-in-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Daughter, Daughter-in-law"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Daughter, Daughter-in-law<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;a daughter,&#8221; (etymologically, Eng., &#8220;daughter&#8221; is connected), is used of (a) the natural relationship (frequent in the Gospels); (b) spiritual relationship to God, <span class='bible'>2Co 6:18<\/span>, in the sense of the practical realization of acceptance with, and the approval of, God (cp. <span class='bible'>Isa 43:6<\/span>), the only place in the NT where it applies to spiritual relationship; (c) the inhabitants of a city or region, <span class='bible'>Mat 21:5<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Joh 12:15<\/span> (&#8220;of Zion&#8221;); cp. <span class='bible'>Isa 37:22<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Zep 3:14<\/span> (Sept.); (d) the women who followed Christ to Calvary, <span class='bible'>Luk 23:28<\/span>; (e) women of Aaron&#8217;s posterity, <span class='bible'>Luk 1:5<\/span>; (f) a female descendant of Abraham, <span class='bible'>Luk 13:16<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> a diminutive of No. 1, denotes &#8220;a little daughter,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Mar 5:23<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Mar 7:25<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;a maiden, virgin,&#8221; e.g., <span class='bible'>Mat 1:23<\/span>, signifies a virgin-daughter in <span class='bible'>1Co 7:36-38<\/span> (RV); in <span class='bible'>Rev 14:4<\/span>, it is used of chaste persons. See VIRGIN. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> Eng. &#8220;nymph&#8221;, denotes &#8220;a bride,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Joh 3:29<\/span>; also &#8220;a daughter-in-law,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Mat 10:35<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Luk 12:53<\/span>.
