See ABYSS, BOTTOM. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> akin to A, No. 1, &#8220;deep,&#8221; is said in <span class='bible'>Joh 4:11<\/span>, of a well; in <span class='bible'>Act 20:9<\/span>, of sleep; in <span class='bible'>Rev 2:24<\/span> the plural is used, of the &#8220;deep things,&#8221; the evil designs and workings, of Satan. <\/p>\n<p> Notes: (1) In <span class='bible'>Luk 24:1<\/span>, some mss. have batheos, the genitive case, with orthros, &#8220;dawn;&#8221; the most authentic mss. have batheos, &#8220;deeply,&#8221; i.e., very early. <\/p>\n<p> (2) In <span class='bible'>Mar 8:12<\/span>, &#8220;He sighed deeply&#8221; represents anastenazo, &#8220;to fetch a deep-drawn sigh&#8221; (ana, &#8220;up,&#8221; stenazo, &#8220;to sigh or groan&#8221;).
