He was rector of Shottesbrook and vicar of Buckleberry and of White Waltham; became a canon of the cathedral church at Salisbury, and was promoted to the archdeaconry of Berks by Bishop Thomas. He died October 21, 1785. The following are some of his publications:  Two Sermons on the Eternity of Future Punishment:  Visitation Sermon on the Desirableness of the Christian Faith (Oxford, 1744):-Two Sermons on Rational Faith (ibid. 1745):  Dissertation on Jephthah&#8217;s Vow (London, 1745):  Sermon on St. Paul&#8217;s Wish (Oxford, 1752), and many other single sermons.
