It is used of making &#8220;void&#8221; the Word of God, <span class='bible'>Mat 15:6<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Mar 7:13<\/span> (AV, &#8220;making of none effect&#8221;), and of the promise of God to Abraham as not being deprived of authority by the Law 430 years after, <span class='bible'>Gal 3:17<\/span>, &#8220;disannul.&#8221; Kuroo is used in <span class='bible'>Gal 3:15<\/span>. See DISANNUL, VOID. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to reduce to inactivity, to render useless,&#8221; is translated &#8220;to make of none effect,&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Rom 3:3<\/span>, <span class='bible'>Rom 3:31<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Rom 4:14<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Gal 3:17<\/span> (cp. akuroo, No. 1, in the same verse), and in the AV of <span class='bible'>Gal 5:4<\/span>, RV, &#8220;ye are severed&#8221; (from Christ). For the meaning and use of the word see ABOLISH and DESTROY. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to make empty, to empty,&#8221; is translated &#8220;should be made of none effect&#8221; in <span class='bible'>1Co 1:17<\/span>, AV (RV &#8220;made void&#8221;); it is used (a) of the Cross of Christ, there; (b) of Christ, in emptying Himself, <span class='bible'>Phi 2:7<\/span>; (c) of faith, <span class='bible'>Rom 4:14<\/span>; (d) of the Apostle Paul&#8217;s glorying in the Gospel ministry, <span class='bible'>1Co 9:15<\/span>; (e) of his glorying on behalf of the church at Corinth, <span class='bible'>2Co 9:3<\/span>.
