He studied at Halle, and in 1754 was appointed teacher at a high-school in Berlin. In 1759 he was also appointed preacher at Trinity Church there, and in 1768 accepted a call to the pastorate at Genthin. He died October 24, 1810, leaving, De Pelagianismo ceque ac Fanaticismo ab Ecclesia Jesu Christi Arcendo (Halle, 1762):  Praktische Lebensbeschreibungen verstorbener und nachlebender Geistlichen (Stendal, 1787).
