See ABLE. <\/p>\n<p> Note: In <span class='bible'>Luk 15:17<\/span> the verb perisseuo, &#8220;to have abundance,&#8221; is translated &#8220;have enough and to spare.&#8221; In <span class='bible'>Act 27:38<\/span> the verb korenumi, &#8220;to satisfy,&#8221; is translated &#8220;had eaten enough.&#8221; <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to ward off;&#8221; hence, &#8220;to aid, assist;&#8221; then, &#8220;to be strong enough,&#8221; i.e., &#8220;to suffice, to be enough&#8221; (cp. A, No. 1), is translated &#8220;be enough&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Mat 25:9<\/span>. See CONTENT. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> lit., &#8220;to hold off from, to have off or out&#8221; (apo, &#8220;from,&#8221; echo, &#8220;to have&#8221;), i.e., &#8220;to have in full, to have received,&#8221; is used impersonally in <span class='bible'>Mar 14:41<\/span>, &#8220;it is enough,&#8221; in the Lord&#8217;s words to His slumbering disciples in Gethsemane. It is difficult, however, to find examples of this meaning in Greek usage of the word, and apecho may here refer, in its commercial significance, to Judas (who is mentioned immediately afterwards), with the meaning &#8220;he hath received&#8221; (his payment); cp. the same use in <span class='bible'>Mat 6:2<\/span>, <span class='bible'>Mat 6:5<\/span>, <span class='bible'>Mat 6:16<\/span> (see Deissmann, Light from the Ancient East, pp. 110ff.).
