See LIFT. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to exalt highly&#8221; (huper, &#8220;over,&#8221; and No. 1), is used of Christ, as in No. 1, (c), in <span class='bible'>Phi 2:9<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to lift up&#8221; (epi, &#8220;up,&#8221; airo, &#8220;to raise&#8221;), is said (a) literally, of a sail, <span class='bible'>Act 27:40<\/span>; hands, <span class='bible'>Luk 24:50<\/span>; <span class='bible'>1Ti 2:8<\/span>; heads, <span class='bible'>Luk 21:28<\/span>; eyes, <span class='bible'>Mat 17:8<\/span>, etc.; (b) metaphorically, of &#8220;exalting&#8221; oneself, being &#8220;lifted up&#8221; with pride, <span class='bible'>2Co 10:5<\/span>; <span class='bible'>2Co 11:20<\/span>.
