Connected with this is the conception of atonement, as in the word lutron, &#8220;a ransom.&#8221; Cp. allagma in the Sept., e.g., in <span class='bible'>Isa 43:3<\/span>. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> denotes (a) &#8220;to exchange,&#8221; meta, &#8220;with,&#8221; implying change, and allasso (see A), <span class='bible'>Rom 1:25<\/span>, of &#8220;exchanging&#8221; the truth for a lie, RV, for AV, &#8220;changed;&#8221; (b) &#8220;to change,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Rom 1:26<\/span>, a different meaning from that in the preceding verse.
