He opposed Melancthon&#8217;s Corpus Doctrinae and the Crypto-Calvinists, and in 1570 had to leave Quedlinburg on this account. He then taught at Erfurt till his death, 1576. His chief work is the Thesauerus eruditionis scholasticce (Lips. 1571; last ed. Francft. 1749, 2 volumes, fol.), a work which still commands consideration for its extensive and exact learning.
