In 1829 he was professor of theology at Upsala; in 1849 was elevated to the episcopal see at Westeras, and died August 6, 1866. He was one of the editors of the  Ecklesiastik-Tidskrift, and published a collection of his writings (Orebro, 186366, 7 volumes).
