It always has a strongly intensive meaning, and is translated &#8220;to fasten the eyes upon&#8221; in the AV and RV in <span class='bible'>Luk 4:20<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 3:4<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 11:6<\/span>; so in the RV, where the AV has different renderings, in <span class='bible'>Act 6:15<\/span> (for AV, &#8220;looking steadfastly&#8221;); <span class='bible'>Act 10:4<\/span> (&#8220;looked&#8221;); <span class='bible'>Act 13:9<\/span> (&#8220;set his eyes&#8221;); <span class='bible'>Act 14:9<\/span> (&#8220;steadfastly beholding&#8221;). In <span class='bible'>Act 7:55<\/span>, both have &#8220;looked up steadfastly.&#8221; In the following the RV also varies the translation, <span class='bible'>Luk 22:56<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 1:10<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 3:12<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 23:1<\/span>; <span class='bible'>2Co 3:7<\/span>, <span class='bible'>2Co 3:13<\/span>.
