He studied at Heidelberg and Berlin; was for some time assistant to the Lutheran pastor of his native place, and accepted a call to Nymwegen, in Holland, in 1823. In 1828 he was called to Wupperfeld, and died January 8, 1844. He wrote, Die Zeitenlinie der heiligen Schrift (Frankfort, 1831):  Ueber die Jahre der Geburt und Auferstehung unseres Herrn (ibid. 1832):  Die Volkertafel der Genesis (Elberfeld, 1837):  Gnomen zur Geschichte des vier Weltalter (Barmen, 1840):  Christliche Gedichte (ibid. eod.):  Feierklange (ibid.).
