{"id":47836,"date":"2022-09-28T16:11:14","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T21:11:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/dictionaries\/fetch\/"},"modified":"2022-09-28T16:11:14","modified_gmt":"2022-09-28T21:11:14","slug":"fetch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/dictionaries\/fetch\/","title":{"rendered":"Fetch"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Fetch<\/h2>\n<p>fech (, lakah): Has generally the meaning of to bring; it is commonly the translation of Hebrew lakah, to take or lay hold of, Hoph. to be brought, seized or snatched away (Gen 18:4, etc.; Gen 27:9, etc.; Gen 42:16; 1Sa 4:3; 1Ki 17:10, etc.); twice of nasa&#8217;, to lift up (2Ch 12:11, the American Standard Revised Version bare; Job 36:3); of bo&#8217;, to come in (2Ch 1:17; Neh 8:15); of alah, to cause to come up (1Sa 6:21; 1Sa 7:1); of yaca&#8217;, to cause to come out (Num 20:10, the American Standard Revised Version bring forth; Jer 26:23), and of a number of other words.<\/p>\n<p>In the New Testament it is the translation of exago, to lead out (Act 16:37, Let them come themselves and fetch us out, the Revised Version (British and American) bring); to fetch a compass is the translation of sabhabh (Num 34:5; Jos 15:3, the Revised Version (British and American) turn, turned about; 2Sa 5:23, the Revised Version (British and American) make a circuit; 2Ki 3:9, the Revised Version (British and American) made a circuit); of perierchomai (aor. 2, perielthon), to go about, to wander up and down (of a ship driven about; Act 28:13, the Revised Version (British and American) made a circuit, margin some ancient authorities read cast loose).<\/p>\n<p>The Revised Version (British and American) has fetch for bring (1Ki 3:24), for call for (Act 10:5; Act 11:13); fetched for called for (Est 5:10), for took out (Jer 37:17); fetched for took (2Ch 8:18).<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: International Standard Bible Encyclopedia<\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<h2>Fetch<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to send after of for&#8221; (meta, &#8220;after,&#8221; pemp, &#8220;to send&#8221;), in the Middle Voice, is translated &#8220;fetch&#8221; in the RV of <span class='bible'>Act 10:5<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 11:13<\/span>. See CALL. <\/p>\n<p> Notes: (1) In <span class='bible'>Act 16:37<\/span>, the RV gives to exago, &#8220;to bring out,&#8221; the adequate meaning &#8220;let them &#8230; bring us out,&#8221; for the AV, &#8220;let them fetch us out.&#8221; &#8220;Fetch&#8221; is not sufficiently dignified for the just demand made.
