See MEET. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;pleasing&#8221; (akin to aresko, &#8220;to please&#8221;), is translated &#8220;(it is not) fit,&#8221; RV (AV, &#8220;reason&#8221;), in <span class='bible'>Act 6:2<\/span>. See PLEASE, REASON. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> properly, &#8220;to have come up to&#8221; (ana, &#8220;up,&#8221; and heko, &#8220;to arrive&#8221;), is translated &#8220;is fitting,&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Col 3:18<\/span>, RV. See BEFITTING. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to come or reach down to&#8221; (kata, &#8220;down&#8221;), hence, &#8220;to befit, be proper,&#8221; is translated &#8220;is (not fit)&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Act 22:22<\/span>; in <span class='bible'>Rom 1:28<\/span>, RV, &#8220;fitting&#8221; (AV, &#8220;convenient&#8221;). See CONVENIENT. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;to make fit, to equip, prepare&#8221; (kata, &#8220;down,&#8221; artos, &#8220;a joint&#8221;), is rendered &#8220;fitted&#8221; in <span class='bible'>Rom 9:22<\/span>, of vessels of wrath; here the Middle Voice signifies that those referred to &#8220;fitted&#8221; themselves for destruction (as illustrated in the case of Pharaoh, the self-hardening of whose heart is accurately presented in the RV in the first part of the series of incidents in the Exodous narrative, which records Pharaoh&#8217;s doings; only after repeated and persistent obstinacy on his part is it recorded that God hardened his heart.)
