The word is frequent in the period of the koine Greek (see Preface). See IMMEDIATELY, PRESENTLY, STRAIGHTWAY. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;at once, straightway&#8221; (from the adjective, euthus, &#8220;straight&#8221;), is translated &#8220;forthwith,&#8221; in the AV of <span class='bible'>Mat 13:5<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Mat 26:49<\/span>; (it occurs in some mss. in <span class='bible'>Mar 5:13<\/span>; the RV omits it); <span class='bible'>Act 12:10<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Act 21:30<\/span> (RV, &#8220;straightway,&#8221; in each place). See IMMEDIATELY, SHORTLY, STRAIGHTWAY. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> an alternative adverb to No. 2, is translated &#8220;forthwith&#8221; in the AV of <span class='bible'>Mar 1:29<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Mar 1:43<\/span> (in the best mss.), and <span class='bible'>Joh 19:34<\/span> (RV, &#8220;straightway&#8221;).
