In <span class='bible'>2Co 5:12<\/span>; <span class='bible'>2Co 9:3<\/span> the word denotes the boast itself, yet as distinct from the act (see No. 2). <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p> denotes &#8220;the act of boasting,&#8221; <span class='bible'>Rom 3:27<\/span>; <span class='bible'>Rom 15:17<\/span>, RV, &#8220;(my) glorying&#8221; (AV, &#8220;whereof I may glory&#8221;); <span class='bible'>1Co 15:31<\/span>, RV, &#8220;glorying;&#8221; <span class='bible'>2Co 1:12<\/span> (ditto); <span class='bible'>2Co 7:4<\/span>,14 (AV, &#8220;boasting&#8221;); <span class='bible'>2Co 8:24<\/span>; <span class='bible'>2Co 11:10<\/span>,17 (ditto); <span class='bible'>1Th 2:19<\/span> (AV, &#8220;rejoicing&#8221;); <span class='bible'>Jam 4:16<\/span> (ditto). The distinction between this and No. 1 is to be observed in <span class='bible'>2Co 8:24<\/span>, speaking of the Apostle&#8217;s act of &#8220;glorying&#8221; in the liberality of the Corinthians, while in <span class='bible'>2Co 9:3<\/span> he exhorts them not to rob him of the ground of his &#8220;glorying&#8221; (No. 1).
