They were small towns of Gilead. Num 32:41. The same are called &#8216;towns of Jair&#8217; in Jos 13:30; 1Ki 4:13; 1Ch 2:23. The name occurs again in Jdg 10:4. See JAIR.<\/p>\n<h4 align='right'><i><b>Fuente: Concise Bible Dictionary <\/b><\/i><\/h4>\n<h2>Havothjair<\/h2>\n<p>Havoth-ja&#8217;ir. (villages of Jair). Certain villages on the east of Jordan, in Gilead or Bashan, which were taken by Jair the son of Manasseh, and called after his name. Num 32:41; Deu 3:14. In the records of Manasseh in Jos 13:30 and 1Ch 2:23, the Havoth-jair are reckoned with other districts as making up sixty &#8220;cities.&#8221; Compare 1Ki 4:13.<\/p>\n<p>There is apparently some confusion in these different statements, as to what the sixty cities really consisted of. No less doubtful is the number of the Havoth-Jair.
