Hazarsusah<\/h2>\n

(“horse village”); belonging to Simeon, in southern Judah (Jos 19:5; 1Ch 4:31); possibly made a depot for horses in the trade with Egypt in Solomon’s time; the name may be changed from some ancient name, as the import of horses was prohibited, and not practiced until David’s and Solomon’s time. In the Quarterly Statement of the Pal. Expl. the sites of Hazar-Shual and Hazar-Gaddah are described as walled towns of flint, answering to the meaning of Hazar, an “enclosure.”<\/p>\n
