He studied at first jurisprudence, and was already promoted in 1829 as &#8220;doctor utriusque juris,&#8221; when he betook himself to the study of theology, received holy orders in 1833, and was in 1836 appointed cathedral-dean at Munich. In 1839 he was made bishop of Passau, and died May 12, 1875.
