It is thus synonymous with the word church in that modern use of it by which it signifies a building (Eden). In Jgs, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Ezr, Neh, Ps, etc. (beth ha-&#8216;aselohm), a designation of the sanctuary = house of Yahweh (of the tabernacle, Jdg 18:31; Jdg 20:18, Jdg 20:26 the King James Version; of the temple, 1Ch 9:11; 1Ch 24:5 the King James Version; 2Ch 5:14; Psa 42:4; Isa 2:3, etc.; of the 2nd temple, Ezr 5:8, Ezr 5:15; Neh 6:10; Neh 13:11; compare Mat 12:4).
