Huntington maintained that the elect are justified from all eternity, an act of which their justification in this world by faith is only a manifestation; that God sees no sin in believers, and is never angry with them; that the imputation of our sins to Christ, and of his righteousness to us, was actual, not judicial; that faith, repentance, and holy obedience are covenant conditions on the part of Christ, not on our part; and, finally, that sanctification is no evidence of justification, but rather renders it more obscure. These doctrines still continue to be taught in a number of chapels, especially in Sussex.<\/p>\n
