Thus in considering the limit of f(x) as x approaches c, if this limit is 0 the &#8220;quantity&#8221; f(x) may be said to be an infinitesimal; or in considering the limit of f(x) as x approaches 0, the &#8220;quantity&#8221; x may be said to be an infinitesimal.
